What is Boxercise?
I've had the question asked what is Boxercise?
"Boxercise is an exercise concept based on the training methods used by boxers.
Sessions typically involve hitting focus pads but no class involves hitting an opponent. So it's all the fun of boxing but avoids the black eyes & bloody noses. It is a fun, challenging and safe workout which is great for stress-busting, accessible to all ages and fitness levels."
The sessions will look at starting off with basic footwork and punches with development each week. The remainder of the sessions will then incorporate games, circuits, drills. Each week will be different! So if you are looking for a beasting, or looking to develop your 'milking the cow' technique (more on that later), why not give it a try.

A typical session format would consist of a warm-up but not a boring static warm-up this is a dynamic involved & boxing style themed warm-up. Then you will learn techniques from the development of punches, stances & footwork.
Then the session really hots up with a whole-body approach style workout with each session bringing new imaginative ideas from circuit style, boot camp, beastings & drills.

No experience is necessary and it is understood that this approach to fitness can be daunting & be intimidating to attend, but remember everyone started as a beginner, and I will make it my personal mission to welcome you and integrate you into the class.

What do I Need?
Honestly, very little! Gloves & focus pads are provided for your use during the sessions and any other equipment will also be there to use.

It is advisable though to bring a good supply of fluids and even a change of clothes &/or towel.

Appropriate footwear (trainers) & clothing are a must, not just for safety but also for your comfort & enjoyment.

We are able to sell you hand wraps & also Boxercise branded PU or Leather branded gloves & pads (just ask for more information).

What is the importance of hand wraps? Hand wraps are not used so much as to cushion the knuckles but more to provide support to the wrist. It also offers a level of hygiene whilst wearing the gloves but more than anything it gets you mentally prepared to pound the pads!!!
